How we do it,,,the unscientific gut feel approach.... Keeping starting flex the same, we gradually drop teeth until we feel we have gained best mid/top end and start to see a little hesitation accelerating out of the bus stop and round the bend onto the TKM straight, we then add 5mm to flex length and see if its made a difference to that without sacrificing mid/top and if it hasnt we try dropping one more tooth, thinking/finding that if we get good punch at the section mentioned top end will be ok. Then if we need to we add back on the tooth we just dropped and cross fingers.... We usually start on 50mm without the ring or 45 with.
