If you're bogging out of corners, most people look at jetting.
If the motor is performing well apart from coming out of corners then it's worth looking at the gearing.
If both jetting and gearing are ok then it could be driving technique or kart setup.
If you're dropping the inner wheel too quickly then the kart will drag it's legs and increase your rolling resistance in the corner.
Are you stamping on the throttle not feeding it in?
Is the plug colour good if you kill the engine and look at it?
It's unlikely to be the power valve if the problem is engine pickup response.
Looking at the number of posts, it could be rust :)
