The T2 is the newest evolution of the gx160 motor introduced a few years ago. It was a completely new engine with very few interchangeable parts with the T1. The most distinctive feature of a t2 motor are that it has several additional ridges on the front of the crankcase.
Performance wise the best T2s are slightly stronger than the t1s ever achieved but clubman motors vary so much that this isn't always the case.
If you are starting out and on a budget a t1 motor can now be picked up relatively cheaply. T2 can be open cheque book to get the best.
