Seeing as the 178 is for new parts what is the issue?

You don't have to have the new cylinder head. You could always sell your old one. A standard head is around 136.

They could be accused of shooting themselves in the foot by losing out on clutch sales but you choose to moan over something that doesn't have to affect you.
