Have you thought of Junior TKM as a stopgap? Suitable from age 11, 123kg minimum weight using a black restrictor, good competitive grids and growing at the moment. Its not a massive step up from iame cadet, air cooled, tag, diaphragm carb, and he would be race ready if you decide to move to another class. Once you get to TKM you may want to stay tho!
