I understand your comments but my son does Easykart (now BirelART UK) and I think it would actually be a good place to start karting. We've done club racing before and the atmosphere at Easykart is somewhat friendlier and I would say there is less pressure on the kids. There's a regular cadet group this year of about 15 kids and they all have a great deal of respect for each other. The costs are quite low too. I'm on target for spending about 4k this year including our transportation costs.
