This an x30 post but hey ho.
The new 2018 cylinder is supposed to have more parity, but also ensure it is as good as (but no better than) a good prevo.
So it shouldn't enhance performance compared to the good prevo, but if you have an average one then it will.
You shouldn't have to change other parts, which carry their own potential benefits in their own right in terms of drivability and consistency but not necessarily overall performance.
