Well it depends on whether the stud is within the msa/jag regulations.

If the length of the power valve is free, then you should be allowed to achieve your desired figure.

I never saw anything wrong with making sure I could set the valve to the length I wanted, if you get my drift.

They seem to have sterilised both X30 and Rotax with over regulation so I wouldn't reccommend either now.
