James DeHavillande races in cadets no 57.

His best race this year in S1 was the last round at Shenington - 3rd and 2 x 2nd in the heats and 6th in the final.
We had a bit of bad luck with tyres though. you have to have new slicks for every round in S1 and after 8 laps of practice on the saturday we had the canvas showing through on 1 front and 1 rear so had to buy two new ones for Sunday. the three heats were in the wet and then it dried out for the final so he started with 2 brand new tyres and two with a few laps on. David McNicholl had similar problems but in his case all 4 tyres had to be replaced. Hence poor grip for the first lap or two and that was enough to lose a couple of vital places - but - that's karting!
