I think you will find that Tommy is still very much in business.
There should be no reason why you will need a rebuild.
At the last round of Stars at Shenington all the cadet engines signed on for the Saturday round by drivers who qualified for the A final were checked by the scrutineers. Three drivers were excluded for possible irregularities and I believe they all used Tommy engines. The `offending' part for each engine was (I believe) the oil seals - these can be changed without breaking the seal.
At this time the three drivers are still waiting for their appeals to be heard by the MSA so it has not been confirmed if the parts will be declared illegal.
If you are happy with the way your engine is running then the only action that you need to consider is having the oil seals checked. If you have been happy with the service from Tommy then why not ask him to check them?
The 2008 comer cadet season has been spoiled by accusations of cheating - so far without any proof. Ignore all the paddock gossip and enjoy your racing. But to be 100% safe talk to Tommy about your engine.
