For ABkC classes tenders are issued from time to time and all bids are considered. Last time round was 2006 for contracts starting 1/1/2007.

Despite much lobbying none of the apparently low cost tyre suppliers would bid. I wonder if it was the well developed on track tyre testing used by the ABkC that put them off.

Prices did go down from previously.

For commercial classes tyre price and type is fundmentally in the hands of the class owner - Tal-ko for TKM and JAG for Rotax classes.
