Yeah that makes sense now. In rotax, if you see people with their hands over the radiator then they are covering it to get the engine up to temp. You can't get your hands over the airbox trumpet to choke the engine whilst driving in rotax. Ideal temp is 60 - 65 degrees celsius. 1 or 2 strips of tape does the trick usually.
