Speedyman,
for my ten penneth, I feel you may be coming in for some criticism for complaining after the event, rather than perhaps being a little more assertive before the event as this is looking like sour grapes?
However, I feel you should not have been put in that position in the first place; IMHO, the scrote did the right thing (in the interest of the sport) in letting the illegal (but safe) kart race BUT, should have stated from the outset that any placing would be invalid and their kart would not pass another scrutineering until the work had been done to bring it up to the latest Regs.
As they say though, hindsight is wonderful...
