Luke, if that engine was being sold by the person who didn't even know what cc it was, likely hood is they didn't have a clue about the engine. As i can see your just starting out, just like i was about 2 years ago =D best bet is to by an engine that you know isn't going to destroy itself the first time you go out (unlikley for the 82 but for example) because thats the worst thing (i think) can happen to a new karter! I'd personally pay that little bit extra and know about the engine i've just shelled out £300 for isn't going to destroy itself beside me. EBay is best of both worlds, people rip you off for a lot! Or you can get a bargain, lets hope it's not the later =) Thats just my opinion though. It happened to me when i went to get my first kart, i got out bid, now i look back and think what a piece of c**p it was lol, and now i have something better, and same with my engine. Something'l pop up for you luke, you just need to wait.
