there are some vernier calipers at toolstation will give you the links one is electronic and one standard. i might just buy a new one with extension from zip north to be honest i was going to ask dad double checked with mum first to see if we where doing anything but i might ask dad to bring me up saturday with my engine.
i have a vernier calipers already just need the micrometer i think, do i need some feeler gauges as well. links:

thats the page theyre on and have metric dial indicator on there as well have a look just i might get standard one as i dont want to spend 60 pound on electric micrometer.
