If you think you are in contention for a good finish in the series then the Sunday format at double headers could be an advantage. If you have a 10-minute qualifying session there is probably less risk than in a heat where the speed/ability is at random.
Drivers who have their heads on right and work with one or two other drivers will be able to put in decent times. Those who won't work with anyone or automatically start defending when anyone gets close will probably put in slower qualifying times.
The points for the Sunday seem to be just for the final(s) except for the fastest qualifying points.
