Slap some grease on their Chris, its not against the rules. However you won't gain much of an advantage unless you then drop a couple of teeth and you get grease which doesn't burn off very quickly.

I still struggle to see what the issue is, it isn't cheating so its fine. Modifying any clutch part is but grease is not modifying the clutch part.
