Sorry to say - in my opinion its not practically possible without killing the engine power. I was told in school (long time ago) that decibels is a log scale so for every 3 db you want to remove you have to HALVE the sound pressure level (at a metre, or trackside or whatever) So, 97 to 94 half, 94 to 91 half, 91 to 88, half to 85, half to 82, half to 79
So - If I am working it out correctly the remaining sound pressure is actually only 3.125% of what it started out as... While keeping the power?? See what I mean? The ringing from the fins and induction noise probably measure more than your target before you get to the exhaust.
