I would have thought that if you used the higher octane fuel the engine would "like" it, as it's more for higher performance cars and as kart have performance engines, rather than ordinary pump fuel that's just for all the normal running car engines. It might be a load of rubbish, but i just think the higher octane would probably be in some way "cleaner" than the normal stuff...
