You have basically four choices.

Gearbox
Rotax
TKM
Formula Blue

In gearbox you have a variety of machinery but in many places it seems to be shrinking to one class or one grid of mixed machines.

Rotax,TKM amd Blue all have national champs and you can do Rotax and Blue in the NKRA, a national championship which is aimed at clubmen rather than the higher budgeted Super 1.

We've had the discussion about the advantages and disadvantages of the various classes frequently. In your case, at 15 stone there is not noticeable performance difference between the Rotax 177 and Formula Blue. They seem to have similar maintenance schedules.

Blue costs are lower than Rotax because you don't need a qualified resealer to look at the engine. Blue tyres are also longer lasting than Rotax, although you can find Blue drivers who will change tyres for every race, like many (most?) rotax drivers. But you can race on meeting old Blue tyres and still do good times, which doesn't seem doable in Rotax.

The only problem you may have is a choice of tracks, as Shenny and Rissy from your profile don't and possibly won't run Blues, while a little further north Blue are one of the biggest classes.

The big advantage of Blue is that the engine has a restrictor in it, which varies with the weight of the driver, so when you race Blue everyone is in one grid and there seems to be no noticeable speed difference between the lightest drivers and the heaviest.
