Another thing that strikes me, is why is the MSA following a European lead on this rather than setting standards themselves? Karting in the UK is head and shoulders above any other European country.
One of the big issues is that in the UK, mostly mixed grid qualifying is used, while in most other countries it is timed qualifying. This makes the racing much more competitive but also slightly more dangerous, with a mix of slower and faster drivers.
You can expect to see more overtaking in one UK Cadet heat than in an entire weekends racing in France, by a long long way.
Just because a nose cone is homolagated in Italy and proved to be safe, doesn't make it so in the UK.
