The Zip nose cone deforms into an even more pronouced and rigid wedge shape than it started with. The MSA have effectively admitted that much already by asking for them to be checked. In effect they have already confirmed that the thing is dangerous, they just refuse to accept that it is dangerous enough by their criteria, whatever that is.
As for the comparison with aerodynamics, come on, don't talk to us like the MSA are trying to. The very first scientific research ever in human history discovered that a wedge shape is better than a blunt shape at splitting two objects apart. That's when prehistoric man started breaking off wedge shape flints.
So yes, it is a no-brainer even for us modern Neanderthals.
