The Rotax Vega tyres, I think, produce more grip than the Blue LeCont Tyres but since as the Rotax engine in race trim is more powerful, the power to weight ratio is roughly the same.
The Octane chassis has been successful for me. Having won 2 Regional Titles in 08/09 and the National Title in 2008 on one, bad luck at the grande finals meant I only came 8th in the Nationals this year but I was on course for a top 3 finish up till then.
Like what others have said, the Gillard and the Minerelli are also good chassis's as are OTK. Intrepid seem like good karts aswell.
Any of them would be OK IMO. At the end of the day, it's the guy behind the wheel who makes the biggest difference.
Jamie.
