Hello Joe
we found the best balance in dry grippy conditions on the S8 to be body low as possible i.e. front and rear , and alter grip levels during the day with the rear width . We had medium hubs on the rear. Make sure you dont go over the 1400 mm rear max width.
We some times ran with the rear torsion bar in with the blade flat if the track was cool or less grippy in the morning heats , but kept the ride height low all the time (especially relevant for Buckmore as the top end of the track can be very slippy in the morning)
We did use a soft axle for hot days , but didn't fully change to 50mm until we got the S9. We also had a T11 soft seat.
