First check the main black earth wire that goes to the chassis/engine from the box,there are 2 black wires soldered to the tab ,one is the main earth for starter/engine the thinner one is for the ignition sometimes this one breaks out of the soldered joint,you will have to pull the outer sleeving back to see .. If when turning the engine over ,you get 1 spark then nothing until the next time it is the ignition stator on the side of the engine usually that has failed..
