The in-tank brass filter weighs just the same, if not more than the pick up so it acts as the weight and the filter at the same time =) I'm not sure about filtering it too much, but i think some people run both in-tank and in-line filters. But i do know a lot of people say keep your fuel as clean as possible in the first place. Thomas............
