Not sure I agree, at the acceleration line, everybody, except 2nd place man can plant their right foot fully and concentrate on their approach to the first corner.

But 2nd place, uniquely is not only handicapped by having to watch where he in relation to the pole man until the start line, if he gets it wrong, he can get a penalty.

Add to that 4th pushing him on and or the pole man letting off slightly, let alone a start on a corner.........plus 3rd sticking to the poleman and taking your line, the penalty for 2nd place is much too high.

Wouldn't it be better if the accleration line was also the start line and the second line only the point at which you where allowed to break formation?
