Not sure what you are asking here but the original rod should have been 273mm but I guess from your post that you are looking at the overall length including the rod ends. Unfortunately this will not help as to get the correct seering alignment back you need either to find someone with tracking equipment such as a set of lazers or center the steering col and make very careful measurements beween the inside edges of the front rims horizontaly on the front and back edges and match them up to get the straight ahead. This can be very tricky and time consuming so I reccomend asking someone with the proper kit and it is only a 5 min job.
