It's not 6kg of lead he needs. The lad weighs 30kgs, the weight limit for the class is 135kg, with a maximum kart weight of 99kg. Therefore kart and lad = 129kg. No matter what he is still 6kg under weight.

I have the greatest simpathy, we have opposite problem. My lad is only 3 months older and having spent 2 years in mini, we have to move up to junior max as he is 5kg over in mini.
