The Paul Carr and Litchfield etc drivers are mainly on 2011 Vipers at S1, most others (on Tony) on 2010 Vipers in seniors. There is a large element of fashion around this. Like Phil has already said the 2009 TKM specific (30 mm) Vipers were still right at the front in jTKM last year. When we first got our 2010 Viper we back to backed it with our 2009 one. No quicker, but perhaps the 50mm chassis was easier to drive. Will is a very tall driver though. Ash Jones was still blitzing all around on a 30mm Jade at Shenny last year. Don't get lost in all this stuff. The more questions you ask, the more bull you'll hear in my experience.
