Perhaps fitting suspension to karts would help stop chassis', axles and other parts breaking. Then you wouldn't need to bother with the track at all and you could just race around a field.

Why is anyone surprised that when people start taking short cuts off the track things start to break? It's no coincidence that this is happening at a time when more and more people are throwing stupid amounts of money at the sport just to win a plastic cup. This has apparently now become worth more than a new chassis or axle and or the risk to life and limb. It isn't rocket science, karts are designed for flat tarmac, run curbs, especilly high ones and they break.

Solution is simple, a few high profile disqualifications for cheating and it would stop, so would the breakages.

In another thread there is talk about people being disqualified for being a few grams under weight (advantage - a couple hundreths at best), but gain an advantage of several tenths by taking shortcuts and that's okay. Why is that? I would compare it with speed cameras v visable traffic policing.

This so called SPORT needs to get a grip of itself. Stop paying lip service to rule breaking and start punishing people properly.
