You will find that restricting the throttle, does not actually slow them down very much, it would be better to run small axle sprocket or a rich mixture so that it 4 strokes. Clutching a DD engine is not usually cost effective compared to selling it and buying a clutched motor. Your original post gave the impression that her first drive in a kart was to be the TKM.....if you're going to give her some rental kart experience first, really all the problems go away!
