Try acetone (in SHELL 2 stroke fuel formula book from 1949), still commonly used by cheats in motorsport, smells like peardrops (eh Buzz)and if behind, exhaust fumes will make your eyes sting, can be smelled at most N. West tracks.. They put 4% of it in with 5 litres. As it is heavier than petrol it goes to the bottom of the tank and is usually burnt off in the first few laps (helps acceleration)and ups the burning off process but is non existant at the end of the race and micky mouse fuel testing misses it.
Other thing could be Methanol mix as used in 2T grass tracking engines ,lethal if in contact with skin, causes kidney failure if ingested, also if its burning you cannot see a flame.
