Joey, You choose when he moves from novice,Arks +5 you can if you wish move but you can stay a novice until you/he is happy to be in mixed company in the heats.
DO NOT be put off by anyone complaining they are being slowed by him in practice or in a race,he has every right to be out there learning his craft.Too many "local superstars and one track wonders" forget when they started,they were not all fast out of the box,just enjoy it and don't be afraid to ask,they will all help
Defo spend some time with Scott if u can
