Dirt may have got into the jets or even under the needle.
Make sure you strip & clean thoroughly though as your carb will be liable to flood should particles of dirt remain in or around the needle & seat area.
If this is not the case, then try and reset the low jet…then set the high.
I sounds like the low jet could be set too low/high if you have to catch it on the throttle. Also I would still try a fresh plug as you may have a weak spark.
