TKM have lower maximum kart weights but then use restrictors to try and make the class even.

The MSA did bring out proposals to have minimum driver weights to kart weights and it met with a lot of opposition.

I have seen a lot of junior drivers with 20kg+ of lead who have been very competitive. If a youngster can not handle the weight /power then there are other classes available.
