If they have cancelled the whole championship then I predict they will go down the IKR route. Reason being is that it offers them the flexibility with pricing, racing format etc to make the event profitable for them. It could allow them to put on a race meeting with much lower numbers entered.

The only reason why they would cancel an event other than bad whether is because it is not financially feasible to run it. By going IKR they would be appealing to a much wider market. They would be attracting both MSA racers and IKR racers. It might not be liked by some MSA racers but at the moment there aren't enough racers to hold a club round so if GYG do go down the IKR route you can't blame them. From an MSA perspective they are damned if they do damned if they don't.
