Sounds like it's the carb. On the main straight the corner before it, is it a slow corner like a hairpin? If it is then it sounds like your carb settings aren't working at low revs but are at high revs. The poor performance on acceleration onto the straight would mean that you wouldn't hit the normal high rev's range as it's accelerating too slowly at the start of the straight. However this wouldn't happen on the second straight as the revs are already high going onto the second straight.
