I've just moved from the pattern back-plate, block and drum to genuine, mainly because my new engine came with the genuine parts. Can't say I noticed any difference - the pattern parts are so good, even the engine builder didn't notice when he rebuilt the older engine! They even make the same pinging noise on slow left handers!

I'm currently using a genuine 12t front, however in 2008 ran a pattern sprocket for the full season and had no issues.

I think there is only one company making the pattern clutch kit (sold through a supplier in Ireland) at the moment and the quality is very good. I'd expect there will be several companies making the sprockets so the chance for substandard materials ergo faster wear more probable.

So, for your OEKC races, run pattern clutch kit with a genuine sprocket and you'll be fine.
