Hi Alex,
re: uploading a video file to youtube

# place cd in cd drive
# open windows explorer
# explore the cd for video file types, usually .avi or .mp4 extensions(clicking on the file will autostart windows media player where you can view the video)

# join youtube
# click 'upload'
# select your video file
# fill in some video details while it is uploading
# click make video a public vid so anyone can see it
# copy the video page address when it has finished uploading
# share the video page address by pasting into a forum message, inviting people to view it.
# email friends and relatives, including the video page address from youtube
# become famous!!!
