The other thing I've noticed of late, is that if I get impatient and give the throttle too much abuse while I'm getting going, the clutch can overheat and slip a lot on the warm-up lap and first lap. I don't know if they've changed the compound of the friction material, but I'm sure it's worse with the V-Clutch that came with my new engine last year than it is with any of my older V-Clutches.

If the engine does start to rev up, ease off the throttle and let the clutch bite. They are generally fully locked from 6000 rpm up when working properly, so shouldn't disengage at all in a normal racing lap.
