I know that was the format but people might understand the format if described like that; timed quali set you on the grid for your next race (my lad managed fastest lap and pole for the next race / heat). Then the position you get on your next race / heat sets you on the grid for your final / last race. As an individual much the same as timed quali, pre final and final. My lad slipped from pole to 9th in the 'pre final' or first heat after timed quali, then in his last race / heat / grand final went from 9th to 2nd. So good drive all round.
