The Rotax Max was well received because it had a seal and a warranty and a radiator, plus a carb that didn't need rebuilding every meeting and a host of other freebies unheard of at the time. All for the price of a bare 100dd.
Now, 20 years and nearly 100,000 engines on some people prefer the X30, but as 'david7m' on the other side signs off, "Like the vast majority, a Rotax driver.
