I aint no Rotax expert, but I lightly dabbled late last year, I must say in Rotax's /BRP's defence, they never said the EVO gear would be faster or better......on the BRP website they said that the engines would be as good as the best stuff already out there.....in the instance of mini/Juniors the 09 Barrel was the one to have, dyno it against an EVO engine and they are very similar......so the logic all adds up, if you have a fast old Rotax motor, just keep using it and save the dosh, unless certain parts "must" be run in your series, then you need to upgrade, so its Hobsons choice in some instances.
