Carbon build up has a massive effect on these engines. Choice of oil will effect the level and type of carbon build up. Cool Power creates a surface not unlike the original(hard and smooth)and thus doesn't much effect gas flow.

As carbon builds, so does compression, it may be that as this happens then the engine will find more benefit from better fuel?
