I know of someone who had the same problem and could not cure it.

The engine ran fine with top tanks, but when changed to centre tank was when the problem occured, tried everything to fix it but no joy.

It turned out to be that when the engine covers had been put on to rerplace the top tanks it had kinked the pipe that goes from the pulse pump into the crankcase, nd the pump wasnt working properly.
