Costs aside, I agree with Brian, if you want to be competitive in karting without spending megabucks, at some point you need to get inside the engines yourself. The Honda is as good a place to start as any.

Take it from someone who has done it, there is only one thing better than winning, that is winning on kit that you and your kid (don't forget the advantages of the youngsters getting to grips with the mecahnics)have built yourselves, nothing brings more satisfaction than beating the profesional engine builders.
