We have long been told (erroneously!) that we have plastic side pods to prevent 'overturning' caused by the interlocking action of two kart's wheels that 'could' occur if we didn't have the side pods.
However, if they really DID do that job, the ideal arrangement would be so that you CANNOT interlock by making us run the wheels FLUSH with or further IN than the side-pod's outer edges.
However, what do our lords and masters do...? The try to make CERTAIN that we run our wheels OUTSIDE the side-pods..... which, by definition, ALLOWS interlocking to occur!
Has ANYONE got a RATIONAL explanation for this INSANITY? I have yet to hear an explanation which 'holds water' after as litle as 5 second's scrutiny!
