You protest.

If, as you suggest, you have all the witnesses you need, then lodge a protest. It isn't that expensive at a Nat B and you get your money back if you win. Simple process, and one your Clerk should be familiar with.

As for the bumper thing, if the Clerk has already "discussed" this with the marshalls, then there is no need to go any further.
