I would certainly go with more random checks. testing the top 3 or so keeps the doubting Thomas's quiet if nothing else but I bet there are a few motors around that are not quite correct that have still to be discovered. Some of the karts I have traded over the years have come with some really obvious mods (all corrected before sale) and ranged from carbs, stepped key ways, plugs, plug caps, valve springs, gaskets, exhausts. Most were sold as "race legal" - my armpit. They had never been near a scrutineer with any sense.

I fancy doing a bit of scrutineering once I stop racing. Wonder how i would get on????? 100% thus far me thinks.
